We are back for another great edition of the Frank & Sense newsletter, and I couldn't be more excited to share this week's episodes. Two very different vibes this week:
- On Frank & Sense, we talk about politics, and the need for joyfulness to build connections and bring people in.
- On Hoops Crew, we talk about politics (and basketball), and the joyfulness that we feel because Glenn Youngkin wasn't able to pass a bill to bring the Wizards to Alexandria.
This Week on Frank & Sense:
Frank is joined by his old friend Caleb Rudow. Caleb is a normal guy who never imagined running for public office. Now he's running for the House seat previously held by Mark Meadows and Madison Cawthorn (NC-11). Frank and Caleb talk about Caleb's journey into politics, remaining joyful in the face of cynicism and fatalism, and magic.
Follow Caleb on Instagram and Facebook and check out Caleb's website, where you can learn more about his campaign and support his effort to flip NC-11.

Episode is embedded below and available everywhere you get your podcasts.
Next Week on Frank & Sense:
Spooky season is here early! Next week, Frank is joined by author Ann Fraistat to discuss her young adult horror novels, A Place for Vanishing and What We Harvest. We discuss her journey to become an author, the art of writing, and her new "hopeful" horror novel.

This Week on Hoops Crew:
Hi, my name is Frank and I'm a Wizards fan. This week, I am joined by Greg Twomey, Matt Sparacino, and special guest Mike Sparacino to discuss our beloved dysfunctional Washington Wizards in a group therapy session. Topics include the current state of play, our future outlook, an update on the arena in Potomac Yard, and much more. Plus, we discuss drinks, Greg does a DC crime report, and Matt makes a very special announcement regarding his candidacy for DC mayor in 2026. Smash that play button and join the Poole party!
Things We Talked About:
Frank gives an extensive update on the Potomac Yard arena. TL;DR - The project is in limbo. It may move forward, but the best chance for it to move forward may have already passed. Sources included below:
- "People or profits: arena drama reflects a familiar struggle" by Samantha Willis, Virginia Mercury
- "Leonsis finally met arena nemesis Lucas, but maybe too late to save it" by Gregory S. Schneider and Laura Vozzella, Washington Post
- "Va. lawmakers nix arena plan, leaving Youngkin few options to revive it" by Gregory S. Schneider and Laura Vozzella, Washington Post
Other Things We Talked About:
The Jordan Poole towel. Would you use this at a pool party this summer? Sound off in the comments?

Mike Muscala's LinkedIn page that he keeps up to date with all of the teams he's played for in the league. NBA players, they're just like us!

This Cooper Flagg magazine cover. Is he a white nationalist? Probably not. But his name and the subheader to this cover do not help his case.

Next Week on Hoops Crew:
We are about to enter the Multiverse of March Madness. We will be sharing links to the Hoops Crew Bracket Challenge so you can see if you can beat the Hoops Crew, and there will be a fabulous prize! It is free to enter and last year's winners received $25 gift cards to The Green Turtle. Enter for your chance to win!
And that's all the news that's Frank to print. Happy March, have a great weekend, and we'll see you again next week!
Frankly yours,
Frank
