First of all, I want to say a huge thank you to everyone for their support as I get this little venture off the ground. I heard from so much wonderful feedback from friends and family last week, and I can't tell you how much it means, and how much I appreciate it. Thank you so much for your support!
This Week on Frank & Sense:
Oscar-palooza continues as Mitch, Matt, and Frank open a six-pack of Best Picture nominees! With the Oscars only two weeks away, Frank is joined by Mitch Lerner and Matt Sparacino to discuss six of the Best Picture nominees. And these are some good ones!

Full spoilers for all movies discussed above! You have been warned! Episode is embedded below, and available everywhere you get your podcasts.
Other News and Notes:
- It wasn't just a great year for movies - it was a great year for music in movies as well! All of the tracks that Frank has been playing to introduce the movies discussed on the show are available on this Spotify playlist here.
- It turns out that the Palm Dog award that Matt references is real! In case you're not familiar (I wasn't), there is an award at the prestigious Festival de Cannes to honor excellent performances by dogs in film. The award has been around since 2001, and unsurprisingly Messi from Anatomy of a Fall won the honors this year. Good boy, Messi!
- Including this final link because the headline is too good: Werner Herzog Watched 30 Minutes of ‘Barbie’ and Asked: ‘Could It Be That the World of Barbie Is Sheer Hell?’ Here's the full quote:
“I have not seen ‘Oppenheimer’ yet, but I will do it. ‘Barbie,’ I managed to see the first half-hour,” Herzog said. “I was curious and I wanted to watch it because I was curious. And I still don’t have an answer, but I have a suspicion – could it be that the world of Barbie is sheer hell? For a movie ticket, as an audience, you can witness sheer hell, as close as it gets.”
There is a moment about 30 minutes into Barbie where Stereotypical Barbie, played by Margot Robbie, interrupts a dance scene by blurting out, "Do you guys ever think about dying?" I suppose this means that when Werner Herzog thinks about dying, he will think about Barbie.
Next Week on Frank & Sense:
Oscar-palooza 2024 comes to a thrilling conclusion as we review the final four films nominated for Best Picture: Oppenheimer, Killers of the Flower Moon, The Zone of Interest, and Poor Things. How will Mitch rank them? Tune in to find out!
This Week on Hoops Crew:

It's a jam packed episode will have you signing "O Canada"! Smash that play button and get on in here! Link to the episode is below, and you can also find it wherever you listen to podcasts.
Costume Corner (aka Uniforms We Talked About This Week):
The Los Angeles Clippers have rebranded themselves. Here's a look at the new uniforms, the new court, and that big honkin' boat:

Here are the Francis Scott Key uniforms worn by University of Maryland football 10 years ago that Greg references on the show.

And finally, here are the (awesome) National Women's Soccer League uniforms that Greg references at the end of the show.

Other Things We Talked About:
Wake Forest fans storming the court and bumping into Duke players.
The Heat/Pelicans brawl (aka the Malice at the Smoothie King).

Frankly yours,
Frank
